Either the sale man sells the product or the prospects sells the reason why he shouldn’t buy the product!Now how can a sales person make sure that he is the one who walks out with the deal?There are various factors but I will try to simplify it by focusing on only a few techniques which will greatly increase their sales techniques.Above all the person has to be a motivated individual, they may not know much about the product they are selling or even the company who they work for as long as they are motivated and honest about their lack of knowledge. Actually the prospects will appreciate their honesty even more! A positive smile and a positive energy is infectious.People buy people before they buy their products or services. So smile, show interest in the person, be genuine and show interest in their business by asking lots of relevant questions about it.When I was young I was told that one day I would make a great sales man. At that time I took at as a compliment, but now I take it as an insult! Because I know it means that I talked too much. Great sales people done talk much at all. They don’t pitch and pitch, they listen understand and show empathy. <span id="more-112"></span>They share the prospects headache and offer them an aspirin for their headache they don’t go in offering them bandages at great prices! Because it is not relevant to their needs!Body language is important, adapt to your prospects tone of voice, when they speak slowly and low in tone you do the same. Wait for them to finish, don’t finish their sentence (that’s my favourite) for them. Don’t shake their hand to firmly or too softly, shake their hand as the person they can rely on to deliver what you offer them on time every time. The person who will take care of things when things go wrong.Don’t over promise and under deliver, don’t exadurate the benefits cause the prospect knows that things go wrong from time to time he wants to know what you will be do about it when they do.Before the meeting visualize and rehearse it until you almost know what they are going to say or ask, put yourself in their shoes and think about their primary needs and above all their primary Fears.Because once you overcome ALL their fears they WILL buy from you.People from any corner of the world are motivated to do things because of Two driving motivators 1) To gain pleasure 2) To avoid pain.<br />
I often ask my clients which they think is the greater motivator…. The answer is …. The need to avoid pain!!<br />
I give you an example to prove my point… you see at the beginning of each year people join gyms all over the world, they commit to paying silly prices for memberships of gyms with all the modern gadgets you can think of, why? Because they want to get fit healthy and have that Greek god body on the beach in summer, but guess what 75% of us pay that monthly fee every month but we never visit the place after January!! Why is that? Because the pain of going far exceeds the pleasure of having that wonderful figure! If it was the other way round the gyms will not be able to cope with the masses of members!<br />
So why is it that when we sell we just talk about the benefits of why they should do business with us? Why don’t we assure them and re assure them about their concerns. For instance most buyers fear what would happen to their jobs or how they will look to their colleagues if they make a wrong decision, so what you do is build your presentation on over coming their fears. Offer them something, which makes the deal a no brainer for the prospect. A win win situation a no fear transaction.<br />
Now what gets you deals is the close, even if you are the worst sales man/woman in the world, as long as you knock on plenty of doors eventually some poor weak person, some victim of your presentation will eventually say yes! But hey you’ve been trained by moi and you are the most motivated, hungry sales person with the sharpest tools in the box! During the conversation you hear lots of things the prospect is telling sound positive (we call these buying signals) such as : how quickly can you deliver? Whats the warranty on this product? What are your payment terms?<br />
Here is when the confidense part comes in….. you ask for the business!!! You have practiced it several times before the meeting so you put it to practice again and you say the words.. so would you like to go ahead? … and they say no!!!! what all that hard work, training and they say no? how dare they… you see it takes several nos to get a yes accept it or you will need to get a job in a bank!! (no offence to bankers) the only reason the prospect says no its because you have not over come ALL their fears. So stop imagining yourself stumping out of his office, (you have also practiced this part) you thank him smile aknowledge his rejection and say theses words ‘may I ask why?’ and hopefully the prospect by now loves you and tells you all there is to know. Listen to their concerns, nod, smile and acknowledge, no matter how absurd they must be. Repeat the fear to them to show you have been listening. And as honestly as possible try to over come their concerns. If you cant be honest and tell them, get hold of the individual who does know and get the answers because you can take care of things! You can be trusted! You are liked and you are the greatest sales man living!<br />
For that moment any way!<br />
Get your paper work right, stop your fingers shaking when you hand the pen over for the documents to be signed and plan how you are going to spend your commission. After all you deserve it..<br />

<p>Oh creator of all things, help me. For this day I go out into the world naked and alone, and without your hand to guide me I will wonder far from the path which leads to success and happiness.</p>
<p>I ask not for gold or garments or even opportunities equal to my ability; instead, guide me so that I may acquire ability to my opportunities.</p>
<p>You have taught the lion and the eagle hot to hunt and prosper with teeth and claw. Teach me how to hunt with words and prosper with love so that I may be a lion among men and an eagle in the market place.</p>
<p>Help me to remain humble through obstacles and failures; yet hide not from min eyes the prize that will come with victory.</p>
<p>Assign me tasks to which others have failed; yet guide me to pluck the seeds of success from their failures. Comfort me with fears that will temper my spirit; yet endow me with courage to laugh at my misgivings.</p>

How ever in most business transactions, the Conversation on the telephone is the first time two people speak with each other or make voice contact with you or your company.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>The telephone call is either received by the company (often the receptionist) or an outbound sale call all is made to get and attract the prospect to your products and services.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>On the outbound sales call, the idea is to get the prospect YES. Yes to meting with you, Yes to buying your goods or simply to negotiate an agreement.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>A sale is made on every call. Either the sales person convinces the prospect why they should buy their products or the prospect sells them as to why they shouldn’t.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span><span id="more-83"></span></p>
<p>A sales call is about certainty and who ever is most certain wins!</p>
<p>Then there is the sales pitch, often companies write a sales pitch which they think is most suitable for their Tele sales staff and let them loose on the phones. In my world every sales call is an opportunity to win a new contract or a chance to increase your profitability. Often companies tell the new recruit to just make the call. I say DON’T.</p>
<p>My suggestion is to role play, role play, role play. Role play with your colleagues in the office, take time to practice until it is as close to perfect as possible. Remember that practice makes permanent.  If the pitch does not sound right to you, change it and keep changing it until it feels natural and smooth. If it feels natural to you then it will be to your prospects.</p>

<p>When it comes to writing your pitch: put your mind in the listeners mind, they are probably busy people, (if they are not, they may not be the prospects, which you are looking for!)</p>
<p>What is it that may interest them in your products or services? What do they fear most when they talk to a new supplier? What will entice them to speak with you, give you their time, then trust you enough to take things further.</p>
<p>In my experience prospects need to know that they can either make money or save money. They also don’t want to talk to some one who does not know their market or industry. They also don’t need any headaches because they still feel the pain of the last time something went wrong when they bought from the person who made them the last sales call.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>SO … remember that…..people buy people First, In that case I suggest when the call is made you find out what the correct name of the person who makes decisions at the other end. Maybe the managing Director, The Head of purchasing, the owner or the general manager.</p>
<p>NEVER, NEVER, NEVER pitch the guy below that position as it is almost impossible to work your way up the ladder in an organisation. Always ask for the person at the top and the people below will always take your call once instructed by him.</p>
<p>Once you get hold of the person (Once you get passed the Gate keeper! Will come to that at a later time) The first thing you do is to introduce your self and tell him the reason for the call. These guys have had thousands of sales calls before and they recognise a sales call by the way the phone rings, so please do not patronise them by doing everything possible to disguise the reason you are making the call. Respect them by saying hi, tell them your name, ask them if they are the person in charge of the decision making process and then you say the words “the reason for the call is to introduce myself and my company to yours” that’s it.</p>
<p>Then he has the opportunity to either, offer you an objection and say not interested or give you some of their time and listen.</p>
<p>Either way you go in to your smooth well practiced pitch which may sound like this “ Mr Petrenov, from our experience in dealing with companies such as yours we have managed t increase their profitability by 15% whilst managing to maintain or often improve the level of service they are already receiving, would that be of interest to you?”</p>
<p>The above pitch pretty much covers all you have to say, its non detailed, its not too long, you are not promising anything and t gives the listener assurance that you have experience in dealing with companies such as his.</p>
<p>Second Rule NEVER, NEVER, NEVER  send him information by email or post.. sending information before meeting the person is just giving them a reason to reject you. So don’t do it. When they ask for information say “of course I have information to give you, its just that we need to meet so I can bring the relevant information for your specific requirements, so when is the best time for me to see you and find out exactly what you may need or be interested in”</p>
<p>Your sole intention should be to close or a face to face appointment. That is often the best way to form strong bonds with clients.</p>
<p>Now…. Prior to all this you will probably need to get past the professional trained, Dragon Gate keeper who disguises under the name of The receptionist or secretary. She is employed to reject sales calls and free her boss of such horrible nasty creature called sales people.  At the same time she could be married to the boss! So be nice you never know, be respectful cause if you are not she may not offer you a drink when you turn up at her office to se the boss.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>Don’t lie to her either cause she is even more trained than her boss. A few tricks I use is to bring up the name of their competitors: the other day I called the football club Manchester United, when the secretary attempted to reject me, I told her that the call was regarding Liverpool Football Club and I could not tell her any more than that. She immediately put me though thinking it was some secret call regarding their biggest rivals. I got to speak to my man!!<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>Another trick is to go technical: so is she asks what the call is regarding you could say that it is in regards to the speed of integration, communication and interface between departments within their company and the outside world!! She will often be to be embarrassed to tell you she didn’t understand anything you said and will put you through.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>Finally when she asks you to send some information over tell her NO. cause you cant unless you know what they want and that’s why you need to speak to her boss. Your time and company material are far too important and costly to simply end out to any old Dragon..</p>
<p>Be certain in yourself, be confident, picture the end result and make the call with the end result in mind. Remember to practice, practice and practice. Take action, sales is a numbers game, sharpen your tools and make sure through practice that you are far better than any of your competitors in all that you do.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>

<p>We are half way through the year and the new year fast approaches and I choose to make positive changes now,<br />
learning from my mistakes of the past and shaping things to come in<br />
the future.</p>
<p>As the years go by, I find myself paying less and less attention to<br />
what people say or think or wish.</p>
<p>Instead, I notice what they do, what I feel from them and what they<br />
are working to become.</p>
<p>Aristotle said, &#8220;Time does not exist except for change.&#8221;</p>
<p>The origin of the word change is the Old English cambium, which means<br />
&#8216;to become&#8217;.</p>
<p>In other words, time does not exist except for becoming something new.</p>
<p>What exactly, are you choosing to become? Day after day, each of our<br />
body&#8217;s trillions of cells, are measurable changed, influenced by your<br />
choices or failure to choose or take action.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s your attitude to change?</p>
<p>Once attitude and actions are aligned you are open to development and<br />
growth.</p>

<p>Recently I read an article about the wealth of the planet and the huge<br />
amounts of money flowing through the world, in the air and through our<br />
fingers.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>All we have to do is to be prepared for it, see it, feel it and simply<br />
reach out and grab it.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>&#8216;The average income of an American family has been falling every year<br />
since 2005 (adjusted for inflation). Meanwhile, incomes for the<br />
richest are growing in the double digits.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>Americas Richest 1 percent control more than 33 percent of the total<br />
wealth, and their wealth is now greater than the bottom 90% of<br />
Americans.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>The rich get richer as their giant river of money flowed around the<br />
world searching for good investments.<span style="color: #ffffff;">Dariush Soudi</span></p>
<p>Their billions coursed into the stock market and other financial<br />
markets and lifted the fortunes of Entrepreneurs, executives and<br />
stockholders.</p>
<p>In the 1990s the river moved mainly to the USA, rapid growth,<br />
technological innovation, giant stock market efficient financial<br />
system relatively transparent business climate made it a logical place<br />
for the Rich to pot their money.</p>
<p>Now the river is expanding and spilling into other countries where the<br />
growth is stronger-mainly China, India and parts of Southeast<br />
Asia,Eastern Europe and Latin America. As a result the Richest are<br />
becoming more international.</p>
<p>The production of millionaires will drift away from the USA and the<br />
West. The capital is also moving elsewhere, to Hong Kong, Singapore<br />
and DUBAI.&#8217;</p>

<p>May the rest of 2010 be a prosperous year for you all and for your business, take<br />
advantage of the flow of money around the world and into your bank<br />
accounts.</p>
<p>Someday, the rich will see that their money is not a gift but a<br />
responsibility.</p>
<p>Through philanthropy the Rich may eventually fulfill Carnegie&#8217;s<br />
100-year-old dream &#8220;of a reconciliation between rich and poor, a reign<br />
of harmony.</p>
<p>&#8216;We shall have an ideal state&#8221; he said. &#8220;In which the surplus wealth<br />
of the few can be made a much more potent force for the elevation of<br />
our race.&#8221;</p>

<p>Its been a busy start to the year for most of us, the new decade has brought fresh optimism.</p>
<p><span id="more-21"></span></p>
<p>2009 was a challenging year, also an incredible time for learning and appreciating the simple things in life. Its funny how easy it is to take things for granted or simply getting into habits which don’t serve us.</p>
<p>You see I made a definite decision to make things better. Better for my family, my friends and whom ever I crossed paths with, to take my time and care for them, to stop thinking about me and my needs and to try to enhance other&#8217;s lives.</p>
<p>Change was not easy, change is not easy, specially when it comes tomaking it permanent.</p>
<p>There is a huge difference between being content and to being exhilarated. Most of us want more in our lives, more laughter, more wealth, more passion, more time, more freedom but the pain of change stops us from taking action, the fear of failing or what others may think makes us procrastinate and time just passes by.</p>
<p>I used to label things and became the label. I used to call myself a perfectionist and not take action until everything was just perfect (guess what, it never was)! I blamed circumstances, situations, others for my lack of action, by blaming them I gave them power and became their victim, rather than the driving force of my life.</p>
<p>Until I saw this quote by a rather smart guy with the name of Albert</p>
<p>Einstein</p>
<p>&#8216;The first signs of insanity are when one does the same things over and over again and expects different results&#8217;</p>
<p>I was officially insane!!! So change had to happen and it had to happen NOW.</p>
<p>Anthony Robbins says that to make change immediate and permanent one needs to associate great unimaginable pain to the current situation and great and enormous pleasure to the outcome, once change has taken place.</p>
<p>One has to make a Definite, calculated decision and follow it through by taking ACTION.</p>
<p>How many times I had written my goals down but never took action? It was so easy to sit in my comfort zone and be satisfied, to be content.</p>
<p>My old patterns were holding me back, I had to learn to let go of anger and resentment.</p>
<p>I read that one had to forgive and let go, move on. I learnt, I had the ability to choose how to respond when my survival instincts (anger) were activated. I could not change what had already happened in my life. The past was just that &#8211; the past. Its actions were done, its people were gone, its events were over.</p>
<p>I knew all this but still, it was hard to let go. But I could not move on, until I did.</p>
<p>The last thing I wanted to do was to cut them some slack, if he had done me wrong (for real or in my perception). Why should I have let him off the hook, after he had hurt me?</p>
<p>Then I read &#8216;Because keeping him on the hook hurts me more&#8217;</p>
<p>To forgive did not mean to forget. It only meant, I released the person and the event.</p>
<p>I realised that &#8216;My life is ahead of me, not behind me&#8217;</p>
<p>I found the desire for change, attaching pain to the current situation and immense pleasure to the new change.</p>
<p>Change is inevitable, embrace it, accept it, welcome it and Dance with it.</p>

<p>I now carry my values and quantified goals with time scales written beside them, on small cards. They keep me on track, the track which will serve me well</p>
<p>These cards are everywhere, on my bath room mirror, in my briefcase, in the car, glued to my desk. They remind me every day how small daily corrections will have a massive impact on my life.A positive impact.</p>
<p>They are like an auto pilot flying me to my destination whilst faced with life&#8217;s challenges (&#8216;turbulence&#8217;).</p>
<p>Create your own luck. Be lucky and remember what luck stands for:</p>

<p>Correct</p>
<p>Knowledge</p>

Negotiation, Setting high standards &amp; Field sales, are just a fraction of the things that Dariush Soudi is excellent at conveying to employees and sales individuals. He is good at fixing failing or breaking companies. A very high percentage of companies lack the right decision making and Dariush comes in as the excellent consultant that he is and gets the companies into the right path of profit making or perfect customer service. </strong></p>
